FFJ OUTREACH
Fondation Festival Film Jakmèl, the Festival's organizing entity, produces year round mini traveling festivals, urban mobile screenings, local film productions, vocational training workshops and educational screenings throughout the nation.
Festival Film Jakmèl started in 2004 by David Belle,
an American filmmaker living in Haiti, and Patrick Boucard, a
Haitian artist and founder of
Fondation Sant D'A Jakmèl (FOSAJ). Following the 2005 edition Mr. Boucard and FOSAJ stepped down as co-director and presenting entity respectively. Fondation Festival Film Jakmèl (FFFJ) was subsequently founded by Mr. Belle and established as an independent foundation in Haiti.
The Foundation is dedicated to using film and digital media as tools for creating lasting social and economic development.
