REGULATIONS
Festival Film Jakmèl's mission is to provide the Haitian people the
knowledge necessary to achieve sustainable progress and long-term
development. We firmly believe that through empowerment - access,
exposure and education - Haitians can enrich their lives and use
their own resilient culture to more effectively ensure a brighter
future for their country.
By signing and returning the Press Accreditation Form the applicant
certifies that they are a working journalist and intend to attend the
Festival events for professional reporting purposes. If applicant is a
free-lance journalist, not employed by a known media entity, a resume
and sample of previously broadcast or published work is required.
Applicants understand that Press Badges are non-transferable and subject
to revocation by the Festival authorities should an individual's behavior
be deemed undesirable.
Starting 2006, applicants must submit a copy of their press coverage
to the Festival press office. Failure to do so will result in the loss of
privilege to attend as a professional during Festival Film Jakmèl 2007.
Festival Film Jakmèl actively supports the fight against piracy.
No recording devices of any kind are permitted in screening rooms or
open venues unless accompanied by a Festival Press of Representative.
Any journalist found recording any portion of any film will be permanently
banned from attending the Festival in the future and potentially subject
to prosecution.
