The Festival has a responsibility to share the films it presents with as wide an audience as possible. Additionally, while sharing these works, it has the responsibility to ensure that each film's educational impact is strong and lasting. To achieve these objectives it is essential that our programming reach schools and that local teachers receive the tools necessary to invigorate discussion and reflection about a story's message.

The Festival is currently collaborating with the Institute Française of Port-au-Prince and the Alliance Française of Jacmel to deliver films and accompanying study guides to schools around the country. Delivering films with important educational lessons to the country's schools will be a growing year-round mission for the Festival in the years to come.

To begin this initiative, the 2006 Films to Schools pilot program will deliver programs and study guides to six schools in each of the following cities: Cap Haitian, Jacmel, Les Cayes and Port-au-Prince.
